For those of you looking for some of the remedies that maybe your grandma used to use, which by the way they are finding are valid treatments, there is a book from 1921 by Dr. T. J. Ritter, Mother's Remedies. It has over 1000 remedies collected from mothers throughout the US and Canada. The book can be obtained through Project Gutenberg - just do a Google search - or post in comments and I'll go through my files and upload it.
